Here we are on the 5th floor where workers have begun building the arch detail over the door to George, Kevin and Jesse's office. This detail will exist over a number of the doors in the building. In effort to have our new home feel as airy and open as possible, the ceilings will cling to the floor above as much as possible, the doors will be very tall, and the glass windows/half walls will be over-sized. By increasing the dimension of these elements it actually makes the space feel bigger and acknowledges the size and shape the windows that wrap 50% of our walls. I also felt that by designing it this way it would enhance our 'hot climate' interior aesthetic.
