Lounge wall + slate pieces + old pipes = historic cool

This picture shows the South masonry wall of what will be the lounge. After taking down the plaster we found these old pipes beneath, which I think are really beautiful. Apparently, back in the day builders would use slate and other 'good flat stones' as support elements. These appear to be more superficial and utilized to hold the pipes in place that were added long after the masonry wall went up.
